"Not Me!" Monday

This is my first "Not me!" Monday. I recently came upon MckMama's blog (proud home of Not Me! Monday) through "Bring the Rain" a blog that I've been following for some time now. You should check out MckMama's blog and see the pictures of her MckMiracle and read her amazing story of God's healing power. You should also give "Not me!" Monday a try... it's very therapeutic!!

I did not go outside this morning in my jammies to give Jon some freshly baked chocolate chip muffins only to be greeted by our mail lady. I also did not go outside a few weeks ago in my robe to talk to Jon when the group of runners that use our hill for training stopped to do squats in front of our house. What self-respecting mother would do THAT? Not me!

I did not consider giving my children spinach & sweet-potatoe brownies for supper last night... it's probably more veggies than they would eat at supper anyway... right?!?

I did not wait at least a month before changing the sheets on Abby's top bunk because I didn't want to have to balance precariously on the window ledge. Beds are changed at least once a week at our house.

I did not let my kids go for 5 days without a bath... how much effort does it really take to bath 3 children at their craziest time of the day. Seriously!!

I did not let Jordan play in the catfood... possibly eating a couple pieces... so I could steal a few minutes to myself on the computer. Not me!

I do not throw out the blue plastic glasses that Jon likes for his chocolate milk when he leaves them anywhere other than the kitchen sink... he is not down to only one :) THAT would just be downright mean. I would never do that!

I have not eaten ANY of the kids' Halloween candy. What kind of mother would "trade" the candy that she bought for the trick-or-treaters (the kind she didn't like so she wouldn't eat it all before Halloween) with the yummier candy that her children collected? Definitely NOT me!!

Lez, you're amazing! I love your fresh combination of honesty and humour...your blog is an absolute pleasure to read! I'm only scratching the surface myself of the refreshing nature and healing power of authenticity - still a rather scarey concept for me! You inspire me in so many ways! Blessings on you and your precious family!
