Hamster-sitting

This is Cuddles... our friends' hamster who lived with us for a week at the end of the summer. The kids absolutely LOVED him... especially Jude and Abs. He lived in Abby's room with the door closed (or in the closet) ... since we DO have a cat and a dog who would eat him.

New beginnings

All the little Gomers are now in school...

 Abs and Jude started on Sept. 7

 Jordy started yesterday!  He had great day and was all smiles when I picked them up at school.

 These are the flowers that he picked for me while we were waiting for the bus... he's such a sweet little guy. 

Yesterday was very quiet. I came back into the house after watching the bus leave with all my precious little people on board.  I cried.  All the sudden I didn't want to have time to myself to finish off my doctorate... I just wanted my children home, with me.  I've often thought about homeschooling... whether it would be a good fit for our family, whether it was what God had called me to do...

And yet, I love the kids' school.  Their teachers are great.  I'll be able to volunteer in each of their classes.  I'll be able to do my house/school work on the days they are in school so we can spend the days that the boys are home having fun learning and playing together. I'm excited for their friendships and all the fun they will have learning at school. I'm excited to hear all about their days ...

It's a transition... transitions are difficult.
