Playing for the "Beavers"
Jude is playing soccer for the first time this year. He's loving it! He's even had a few "break-aways"... he's still working on staying on the field when he gets the ball :) In the picture on the bottom right of the collage below, he was leading teammates and opponents onto an adjacent field. Watching 4 year olds play soccer is very entertaining!
Jude Photography
After I got my new camera, Jude claimed our old one. These are some of his pictures... It's fun to see the world through the eyes of a nearly-four year old. An aside... while "learning" about his new camera, Jude managed to change the language setting. It's good that I was very familar with the buttons before because the language is now one that includes characters I've never seen before!

"Daddy in the bucket goes tap, tap, tap"
Yes, Jon was inspecting the bridge in Kakabeka yesterday so I took the boys out to watch Daddy (he's in the very bright yellow). The boys loved the BridgeMaster (the big truck with a bucket on an arm), but loved watching Daddy work even more.... I heard a lot of: "Daddy is so cool"... "Daddy in the bucket is the coolest"... "Daddy's tapping the bridge!"...."Daddy's making sure the bridge is safe"... Then they wanted to help look for cracks to show Daddy.
We even made up a song to the tune of "Wheels on the Bus":
"Daddy in the bucket goes tap, tap, tap
Tap, tap, tap
Tap, tap, tap
Daddy in the bucket goes tap, tap, tap
Under the bridge"
It was a fun way to spend the afternoon. I had never actually seen the BridgeMaster either, so it was fun to watch what Jon does during the bridge inspections.

Creative nighttime parenting
Jordy slept with us last night because he was restless and truly it was easier than getting up umteen dozen times to stumble to his room. At one point during the night we were wakened from a deep sleep to Jordan yelling, "I not buckled, I not buckled". It didn't matter how many times I assured him he was okay and not in his carseat... the rest of the episode went something like this...
Me: Do you want Mummy to buckle you up?
Jordy: Yeah (in his sweet, mostly-asleep but slightly frightened voice)
Me: Click, click, click, click (while pretending to buckle his shoulder and waist straps). Is that better?
Jordy: Yeah (in his sweet, mostly-asleep relieved voice)
Whatever it takes to get everyone back to sleep :)
Happy Monday!

"Skating"
After being tucking in, it was suspiciously quiet in the boys' room. Then we heard Jordan saying, "I skating, I skating".... Jon went to investigate. I knew when he said, "Um, Lez, come here", there was something worth seeing. I actually gasped when I saw half of the baby powder bottle ON THE FLOOR and Jordan, "skating" around the room. Jude was up on his bunk. I'm sure he wanted to come down and "skate" but knew it would likely not be in his best interests to do so :) In the pictures, it looks like my camera lens is dirty.... it's not... it was the cloud of baby powder floating through the air~!
Since it was already on the floor, the kids had a little skating party before Daddy vacuumed up the mess...
At least their room smells fresh!
