Out and about

We went to Vanderwees Garden Centre on Victoria Day. It was pouring so we couldn't go to a park & pretty much everything else was closed. Abby & Anthony spent the majority of our time there playing with the fake kittens.

My mum & Jon's mum are visiting, so Jon and I moved into our new bedroom in the addition. As you can see, it's not nearly done so is a bit like camping...especially when it gets down below 0 overnight! It's fun though and MUCH better than sleeping the basement :-)

Mother's Day

I am truly blessed to have two amazing children and another on the way. As difficult and frustrating as being a full-time mum can be at times, I'm pretty sure there is no more rewarding job. I love spending my days being Abby & Jude's mummy. These special times are but a moment. One day I'm going to turn around and Abby will be in school and I'll won't get to spend each day with her. Jude's nearly a year old already and yet it doesn't seem imaginable that it's been nearly 12 months since I first saw his sweet chubby face. I truly long to be the mother that God has created me to be. It's something that I certainly can't do in my own strength. I need God every single day (who am I kidding ?!...every single minute of every single day!)

PS: If you look closely on the bottom picture, you'll see Jude's new top teeth (one is just nicely through)

Onboard HMCS Halifax

HMCS Halifax is currently docked at the marina in Thunder Bay so this afternoon we walked down and took a tour.

Abby steering the ship. There was a little boy who was waiting for a turn. Abby was giving him "the look".
We could see our house from the ship. It was easier with the binoculars.

Sleepy kids...after an ice cream at McDonald's, even Abby fell asleep. It was a fun, but tiring afternoon for her. We went down early for a picnic before the tour, then played at the park, went to McDonald's & then home. They slept like this for nearly an hour. Poor Jude was getting a little squished!

Some recent pictures...

Abby & Jude in the racecar cart at Home Depot. We went to get grass seed for the lawn & veggie seeds for our garden. Abby is excited to help me plant! We have sunflowers growing in our kitchen window already and are going to start some tomatoes and herbs inside before transplanting them outside. We have to wait until the grass is established before we can really start the garden. Jon got the grass seed spread last night and has been watering it every few hours.
