New sweater

We took advantage of deals at the Children's Place yesterday and bought the kids some clothes. They had tights for 9 cents. How crazy is that?

I actually bought this sweater for Jordan for next winter, but it fits Jude now so he gets it first. I also got the kids matching striped jammies for next Christmas, matching sweaters for the boys for next Christmas, a couple pairs of brown cords for Jordan, some kakis for Jude, long-sleeved shirts for Abby and a hat & snowsuit for Jordan (he'd already outgrown his first one) AND cheap tights. I love winter sales...

Christmas Jammies

The kids both happened to be wearing the jammies they got from Shannon & Uncle Jay for Christmas, so I took some pictures...

Abby's actually trying to continue watching the show that I so rudely interrupted to take her picture :) I think her jammie top is actually on backwards.

Skating with Abby

Abby and I went skating at park yesterday afternoon for our "girls day". It was actually only an hour or so, but it was just her and I :)

Abby was sooo proud to skate all by herself after a little while holding my hand. She also did the balance beam at gymnastics by herself yesterday and got a "double high five" from her coach Carley. It was a big day!

Ooops... I actually fell once too. It's been a long time since I've been on skates!

This afternoon's photo shoot

Abby, Jordan and I had a photo shoot while Jude was napping this afternoon. Abby learned how to take pictures and then wanted to take pictures of her kitties (and Baby Duck) with Jordan.

Our little girl

Tuesday night Jon and I attended an information night for parents of children entering Kindergarten this fall.
As we found seats in the gym of the school Abby would likely be attending (St. Bernard), a slide show of Kindergarten children played on the screen. Tears rolled down my cheeks. It's a good thing the program started shortly after...before I really started crying. Heads up, I'll be a basketcase on her first day of school. I'm tearing up even as I type!!

We're considering the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board because it emphasizes Christian values as well as academic excellence.

Abby is such an amazing little girl, a little girl passionate about kitties. Tuesday night at the school, they had a table at which we could choose a book to take home. I chose a kitty book for Abby. I took it up to her when we got home. Her eyes danced as she said, "Mummy, how did they know that I like kitties?" Such innocence! We've been chatting about Kindergarten, what she will do, taking the bus, etc. She's already getting so excited.

I'm mostly excited for her, but a little sad that my days at home with her are numbered. How did the time go by so quickly?

She's nearly done her rest time and it's time for me to go prepare for making rice krispie squares. Maybe we'll have a chance to play "Deep dark woods" with her where she sneaks through the forest and the "monster kitty" chases and tickles her (a game she made up for us all to play) or have a "polly date". Maybe we can turn the living room into a mud pit with blankets and couch cushions and "super kitty" can rescue me and Jude with her "big 'ole hook". Yup, I'm going to miss her when she goes to school (even though she will only attend Mon & Wed or Tues & Thurs, plus every other Friday). I'm going to do my best to savour our "home days"! 7 1/2 weeks

Jordan cheeks are beginning to rival his brother's. As he approaches 2 months old, Jordan is beginning to sleep for longer stretches at night. The price is that he wants to eat every 2 hours during the day (when awake) and is cranky for several hours in the evening. With the exception of his gassy/cranky times, he is a little sweetheart with adorable little dimples and smiley eyes.

Nothing but love... Jude loves giving Jordan his Nuk

Chatting with Daddy

Jon's discovered that Jordan likes to hang out in his cozy car seat. Whatever works!!

Our little girl is 4 years old!?

Trying on her new bob-skates from Mummy & Daddy. Abby's taken to squinting when we try to take her picture...

I knew how excited Abby would be to have kitty ears, so I stayed up Friday night making 4 sets for her and her friends to wear instead of party hats while Jordan hung out with Daddy.

We had Abby's party on Saturday. We went to Wiggles and Giggles and then back to our place for pizza, cake & ice-cream. We had 9 parents, 4 preschoolers, 3 toddlers and 2 babies. It was a little crowded, but we had fun!
Abby with her kitty cake. Not too bad for a sleep-deprived mum :)

No longer a newborn

Jordan will be 6 weeks old tomorrow and had his discharge appointment this afternoon with our fabulous midwife Lillian. It's hard to believe that Jordan is already 6 weeks old and that our time in midwifery care is over. The midwives have been amazing and I'm thankful that we've be able to be in their care for all of our children.

Jordan was so great during his appointment, giving Lillian lots of smiles and near-giggles.
Weighed for the last time on the midwives' scales. Jordan was 9 lbs, 10 oz at birth and is now 14 lbs, 2 oz. Sheesh!
