The roofers again didn't show up, but here is where we are so far.
The front door has a piece of wood in front of it to keep the weather out.

One of my girl friends, Tara, is leaving town, so we had a little get together at the church yesterday morning with some of her friends & their kids. We had 15 kids altogether, which was BUSY, but lots of fun. We made sugar cookies & then decorated them. For some reason, Abby didn't want me to take this picture so is scowling instead of smiling.
The icing was a big hit!
Abby used purple, of course!
Here is Jude playing with his hair... he doesn't actually have much (he's appears quite bald in most pictures) so he often tears into his little scalp with his finger nails (which despite my best efforts are always sharp!)
You can see his latest head wound from his "hair playing"
Jude's very much enjoying his "Baby Mum-Mums" (rice rusks) & is pretty good at eating them on his own. He has an incredible appetite. He'll usually eat at least one bowl of cereal (about 4-5 tablespoons of dry cereal mixed with boiled water) and then a small bottle of vegetables or fruit and 2 rice rusks! All this AFTER I breast feed him! Hungry boy!
Here's Abby doing one of her most favourite activities, reading books.
Abby giving her little brother some cuddles.
Abby wanted me to take a picture of her with her "friends" on the step.
Abby loves having pretty toes, but also loves playing soccer. She wants me to share with you all that her favourite colours are purple & green.
I can't believe that our little Jude is already 6 months old! Although he has rolls on rolls, he hasn't quite hit 20 lbs yet. We just had his 6 month check up on Tuesday. His rate of weight gain was down considerably, so they want us to bring him back early in the new year. We're not that concerned given that he's still in the 97th percentile for his age!
Chatting with Mummy... Jude's latest trick is to click with his tongue and blow bubbles (not such a fun trick when his mouth is full of strained carrots!)
What a cutie!
Jon's been working on the joining section for the past few days. The window on the landing of our existing house has been replaced by a doorframe filled with insulation & covered with plastic.
Rafters attached to our existing roof.
Ahhh.... that's how it joins together!! It's been difficult to visualize, but now it's really coming together. Quite the guy I've got :-)
National Child Day is a "day to remember that children need love and respect to grow to their full potential. It’s a day to marvel at their uniqueness and all they have to offer. It’s a day to celebrate the family and think about how adults affect the development of children close to them." Canadian Child Care Federation
Here are some pictures of our little people... we celebrate their uniqueness & treasure the special gift that they each are.
The trusses arrived last Thursday. Jon spent the weekend preparing them to go up & perfecting his one-man-truss-installation technique. Yup, he carried the trusses from the ground to the second story & has been installing them by himself. Needless to say he's pretty tired. I'm pretty impressed & proud of him. He's doing a fantastic job!

We ordered the windows today. We hope to have everything framed & have doors/windows installed by early December.
