One Week Old

Jordan is already 9 days old and has gained 1 lb since leaving the hospital last Saturday (he was 9 lbs, 10 oz at birth and lost 5 oz before we left). He is now 10 lbs, 5 oz. He's gained 5 oz since last weighed on Wednesday.

Jordan is our last little one so I'm trying to savour every cuddle, every cute little squeak, the way he snuggles up on our shoulder,
his newborn smell... I know how much I'll miss all these little things when he's older. Seeing Abby & Jude, I know how quickly they grow *sniff*

Today at Sunday School, Abby made a necklace out of foam beads for me (she told me that she already had one, so wanted to make one for me as an "early Christmas present"). I put it on before we left the church to go out for lunch. When the waitress at Montana's came to our table, she told me how much she liked my necklace... Abby beamed! I'm so proud to be her mum. I'm proud to wear the necklace that she made just for me.

My mum was here until yesterday. Tomorrow will be my first day on my own with the 3 kids. Yikes! Although my body is recovering very well from the labour and delivery, I'm tired and notice how little patience I have at times. But, I know that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. On my own, I'm weak.
Until very recently Abby would only want to sit on rides and not want them to move. It's been great because she's happy and we've saved lots of loonies! However, now she likes the rides to move. When we were at the airport, she decided that she wanted to go on the mini merry-go-round with her little brother.
Jude loved it!

Oh they do grow up fast! I find myself occasionally longing for that 'new baby in my arms' feeling. Seeing Jude next to Jordan makes Jude look like such a 'big boy'! Funny how that happens ... just two weeks ago he still looked like a baby. Not now though.

I'll be praying that the kids sleep well at night and that you can catch up on your sleep during nap times etc. Remember that dishes and dusting can wait...
love ya,
Amy
