Our new basement!
Ready to backfill & get rid of "dirt mountain" as Abby affectionately calls it. Also the last look at our pantry/office wall.
I particularly like the soffit hanging... yesterday I had a new view from my kitchen! Jon has since boarded up the hole from the kitchen & added a vapour barrier and some insulation so we don't freeze while he's working.
Cutting through the wall proved to be more challenging than we thought... the previous owners had patched the stucco with concrete. It gave Jon a good work-out as he beat on our house to get it off so he could cut through.

Your blog is great,Lezlie. We'll keep checking in on the progress here instead of in real life - the photos give a great perspective! Persevere, the end is drawing near! (well... you are closer to the end than the beginning, right?)
