We had Jordan's birthday party last Saturday. Friday night he developed a cold with a runny nose and watery eyes... there aren't many pictures of him smiling (kind of like his first birthday, when he was also sick...), but he did have fun. Although he wasn't into blowing out the candles, he was into eating numerous pieces of cake, several hotdogs & all-dressed chips! Happy birthday sweet boy!

Yes, I made the cake. Thanks for the compliment Deb! This was actually the second cake. I let the first one cool too long in the pan and it refused to come out in one piece. At midnight-ish I started whipping up cake # 2 from scratch. I think the homemade cake was actually easier to decorate because it was firmer and more dense. My mum always made our cakes growing up, so it's one of those things that I wanted to pass on to my kids :)
